South Dakota T-Shirts, Hoodies, & Sweatshirts
South Dakota sweatshirts, t-shirts, & hoodies printed exclusively on premium garment-dyed Comfort Colors apparel. Vintage designs for the Mount Rushmore State, from the Black Hills to the Badlands.
South Dakota Sweatshirts, Black Hills and Beyond
South Dakota sweatshirts hold up in a state where the weather does not ease into anything. Winters are long, the wind crosses the prairie without slowing down, and the Black Hills catch snow well into spring. Our State of South Dakota hoodie is built on garment-dyed Comfort Colors, heavyweight and pre-shrunk, with a vintage design that fits the landscape. Rapid City sits at the gateway to Mount Rushmore, and this layer belongs there. Explore our Midwestern apparel for neighboring states.
South Dakota Hoodies, Prairie Warmth
South Dakota hoodies handle Custer State Park mornings and Sturgis rally nights without complaint. The Comfort Colors 1567 is 9.5 oz. of heavyweight 80/20 blend with a jersey-lined hood, built to layer under a jacket or stand on its own. Our Sioux Falls sweatshirt carries the state well whether you live there or just drove through on the way to Deadwood. Gets softer with every wash, not thinner.
South Dakota T-Shirts, Summer on the Great Plains
South Dakota t-shirts fit the stretch from Memorial Day to Labor Day when the Badlands hit 100 and the Missouri River reservoirs fill with boats. Our State of South Dakota tee is garment-dyed heavyweight cotton, soft from day one and built to outlast the typical road trip souvenir. A good reminder of Crazy Horse, the Corn Palace, or whichever part of South Dakota stuck with you.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
What is garment-dyed apparel?
Each piece is dyed after it's sewn, not before. This gives Comfort Colors their signature soft, vintage, lived-in feel and rich color from day one. The color gets better with every wash, and slight color variations between pieces are normal and part of what makes each one unique.
Are your South Dakota clothing products the same as typical South Dakota gift shop sweatshirts?
Not even close. We print exclusively on Comfort Colors, one of the fastest-growing apparel brands in the country. Premium heavyweight garment-dyed apparel that's thicker, softer, and designed to last for years, not a single vacation.
How do I care for Comfort Colors garments?
Machine wash cold, inside out, with like colors and a mild detergent. Tumble dry low or hang dry. Skip the bleach, fabric softeners, and high heat. Wash separately the first time as the dye can bleed slightly. They only get softer with age.
Do Comfort Colors tees and sweatshirts shrink?
Comfort Colors are pre-shrunk during the garment-dye process, which significantly reduces future shrinkage. Stick with cold water and low heat in the dryer and you will have no issues.
What is the fit style of Comfort Colors apparel?
Relaxed and slightly oversized with a casual fit. T-shirts are 6.1 oz. heavyweight 100% ring-spun cotton. Hoodies are 9.5 oz. 80/20 cotton-poly blend with a jersey-lined hood. Soft-washed so they feel broken-in from the first wear, not stiff or scratchy. See our Comfort Colors fit guide for full sizing details.
Will the print fade, crack, or peel?
Our designs are direct-to-garment (DTG) printed on pre-shrunk Comfort Colors garments, similar to screen printing but with sharper detail. Each garment is pretreated before printing, and the ink bonds directly into the ring-spun cotton fibers. No cracking, no peeling, no fading.
Do you offer free shipping?
We know shipping costs add up, so we pay shipping on all U.S. orders over $75. Just our way of saying thanks for shopping with a Maine company.
Do you offer wholesale hoodies, sweatshirts, and t-shirts for your South Dakota apparel?
Yes. We offer bulk pricing on all of our apparel, including South Dakota hoodies, sweatshirts, and t-shirts. Pricing is based on your specific order, and larger quantities mean better pricing. Contact us with your specific needs and quantities and we will put together a quote for you.
Will the colors match exactly what I see on screen?
Product images are digital mockups and may differ slightly from the finished garment. Colors can appear different depending on your screen's settings, and because every Comfort Colors piece is individually garment-dyed, natural shade variation occurs between batches. Print placement and size may also shift slightly from the mockup. These variations are part of what makes garment-dyed apparel unique and are not considered defects.
